The SNMG190612SG PR005S is a heavy-duty square indexable turning insert designed for medium to rough turning of stainless steel and heat-resistant superalloys. The PR005S PVD-coated carbide grade is a dedicated stainless and superalloy grade with exceptional edge toughness and resistance to the work-hardening and notch wear that are characteristic of austenitic stainless steel machining. The SG chipbreaker — clearly embossed on the insert face in the image — features an aggressive geometry optimised for generating tight, manageable chips in long-chipping stainless materials.

Applications
